How would you define your music?

Indie pop with a sprinkle of disco

Your first two singles have amassed over 20,000 streams. Can you share more about your musical journey and how it feels to have gained significant recognition with just two singles released so far?

Music has been a massive part of my life since I was young but I only started to release my own songs this year. It’s definitely been challenging at times! But it’s such a special feeling knowing that so many people relate to the music and enjoy it just as much as I do. I’m very grateful.

Your music has been compared to artists like La Roux, Ida Corr, Kylie Minogue, and Jessie Ware. How do these comparisons resonate with your own musical influences, and who are some of your biggest inspirations?

Such a compliment! I grew up listening to them so they are all massive influences to my music, especially Kylie – I think I take a lot of inspiration from her early production and songwriting.

Can you tell us about your new single “All The Same”?

Yes! It’s a groovy little number that comments on being bored with routines and monotony in day to day life/people.

How does this new song differ from your previous releases, both musically and lyrically?

It definitely pushes the pop genre a little more compared to my previous releases – it’s much more electronic and leans more on disco influences too. Lyric wise it’s also a little bit more gutsy and cut throat than my previous releases, but still keeps the play and lightheartedness that I think is universal in my music.

Your debut LP is scheduled for release in April. What can we expect from your upcoming album, and how does this new song fit into the larger creative vision for the project?

Expect a lot of disco strings, horns, a ton of synths and some crazy funky bass lines! It’s a very fun, playful album but also has moments that are very vulnerable. I think “All The Same” is a really good example of that contrast and balance between the two.

What is a message you would like to give through your music and why?

I think to not take yourself too seriously, and to stay grateful and self-aware. I think that’s a big message that comes across in my music, and is why even when I’m venting or complaining or having a go at something like in “All The Same”, there’s still moments that are almost caricature and play on this false ego. It’s not that serious, y’know?
