Nominations

The nominations for the 2024 GRAMMYs were announced on November 10, 2023. SZA is the most nominated artist, having received nine nominations. Three artists closely follow with seven nods each: Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers, and Serban Ghenea. Notably, the big four categories were dominated by women, as Jon Batiste is the only male artist nominated in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year categories.

The Best New Artist category is a close battle between Gracie Abrams, Fred Again.., Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét, and The War and Treaty.

Records

There are many potential records that could be set by the nominees and winners:

Taylor Swift could become the first artist to win Album of the Year four times if her album “Midnights” wins the top prize. She is currently tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon with three wins each.

Billie Eilish could become the first artist to win Record of the Year three times if her song “What Was I Made For?” wins the category. She has already won twice in a row with “Bad Guy” and “Everything I Wanted”.

New Categories and Changes

Some changes have occurred for the 2024 GRAMMYs. Here are a few:

Three new categories have been added: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.

Nominees in the big four categories were reduced from ten to eight.

The Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical categories were moved to the General Field. This change means that the entire Grammy voting membership can vote on those two categories.

Hosted for the fourth time by Trevor Noah, the 66th Annual Grammy Awards will take place tonight at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will air live on CBS starting from 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT and will be available to stream on Paramount+.
