Camila Cabello’s fourth album, “C,XOXO”, drops in less than 24 hours. The singer recently appeared on the Broken Record podcast, where she delved into several themes behind the album. She explained how Miami’s BMX culture and girl gang vibes inspired its creation. “C,XOXO” marks a strong departure from her previous work, but she eagerly awaits fans’ reactions, acknowledging that it takes time for listeners to embrace new music.

In the interview, Camila expressed her desire to break free from traditional pop artist stereotypes and stay true to herself: “I don’t really try to cater to what I think people want from me or expect from me. Every time, I just kind of follow my instincts,” she said. “I don’t wanna be perceived as, like, a ‘pop girl,’ I just kinda wanna be me, like outside of that.”

Camila also reflected on her artistic evolution, noting a shift towards creating a cohesive world or aesthetic for her music, similar to Lana Del Rey. Additionally, the “I LUV IT” singer discussed her collaborations with Drake, who is featured on “C,XOXO”, and how his influence from the hip-hop genre has shaped her writing.
