Ariana Grande has achieved another historic streaming milestone. On Christmas Eve, her modern holiday staple “Santa Tell Me” recorded its biggest day ever on Spotify’s Global chart, pulling in an impressive 16.09 million streams worldwide. More than a decade after its release, the song continues to surge annually, cementing its status as a contemporary Christmas classic.
The record-setting performance coincided with another major achievement for Grande. She returned to No. 1 on Spotify’s global monthly listeners chart with 123.8 million listeners, making her the first woman in history to top the ranking five separate times. No other female artist has led the chart more than twice.
Originally released in November 2014 via Republic Records, “Santa Tell Me” has steadily grown into one of the most enduring holiday songs of the streaming era. Co-written by Grande alongside Savan Kotecha and producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, the track blends traditional Christmas themes with glossy, modern pop production.
In 2024, a full decade after its debut, “Santa Tell Me” made history as the first holiday song released in the 21st century to reach the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, it has continued to post top-ten peaks across dozens of countries and climb into the top five of the Billboard Global 200, underscoring its lasting global appeal.
