In a new social media post, Britney Spears made a definitive statement about her music career, declaring, “I will never return to the music industry.” Amidst ongoing rumors, she clarified her stance on creating a new album and emphasized that her current focus is on writing for fun or for other artists, “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!!,” she wrote.

Despite stepping back from the forefront of the music scene, Britney Spears has been actively contributing to the industry behind the scenes. The pop icon revealed her role as a ghostwriter, expressing her genuine enjoyment in crafting songs for others, “I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!” The 42-year-old star also revealed that in the past two years she has written over 20 songs for various artists, showcasing her versatility and continued passion for songwriting.

Spears also addresses speculation surrounding her recently released book, The Woman in Me. Dismissing claims of unauthorized release, she asserted that her book was not made public without her approval, “People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth.”

Although she hasn’t released a new LP since 2016’s “Glory,” Britney Spears has treated her fans with two new collaborative singles over the past two years, one with Elton John and the other with will.i.am. The former, titled “Hold Me Closer,” was released in 2022 and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first top 10 hit in ten years. The second, “Ming Your Business”, was released last summer.
