Cardi B is opening up about her decision to delay the release of the music video for her fiery new track, “Pretty & Petty.” The Bronx rapper revealed she chose not to drop the visual out of respect for fellow rapper BIA, who released her debut album Bianca today (Oct. 10).

Speaking in a recent Instagram Live, Cardi explained that while the video was ready to go, she wanted to avoid escalating any drama. “I’ma be nice to you because it’s your album day,” she said. “I don’t wanna add to your stress. I’m not the bad person people think I am.

The decision comes amid ongoing headlines surrounding “Pretty & Petty,” one of the most talked-about songs from Cardi’s chart-topping sophomore album Am I The Drama? The track includes a pointed lyric aimed at BIA, with Cardi rapping, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head, bow b*h you dead.” The line quickly reignited long-standing tensions between the two rappers and sparked a wave of fan debates online.

Earlier this week, BIA addressed the situation during an interview with HOT 97, where she responded calmly and compassionately. “Girl, go enjoy your pregnancy,” she said when asked about Cardi’s diss. “I don’t want to say something that’s going to hurt your feelings and make me look like the bad guy because I’m talking about somebody with a baby.

Meanwhile, Am I The Drama? debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album features collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion, Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, Kehlani, and Tyla.
