Ella Langley continues her breakout run as “Choosin’ Texas” holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a fourth nonconsecutive week. The milestone not only extends the song’s chart dominance but also sets a new record for female-led country hits in Hot 100 history.
With four weeks at the summit, “Choosin’ Texas” now stands as the longest-running No. 1 by a woman with a country crossover on the Hot 100. The track surpasses Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” which spent three weeks atop the chart in 2012. Previous entries in that category include Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” (2024) and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” (1981) and “Islands in the Stream” with Kenny Rogers (1983), each of which logged two weeks at No. 1.
Released on October 17, 2025, “Choosin’ Texas” serves as the lead single from Langley’s upcoming second studio album Dandelion, due April 10, 2026, via Sawgod and Columbia Records. The track was written by Langley alongside Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert, and Joybeth Taylor, with production handled by Lambert and Ben West.
Commercially, the single has functioned as a defining breakthrough. It marks Langley’s first No. 1 on the Hot 100 and has already earned Platinum certification in the United States.
The success arrives amid a pivotal rollout for Dandelion, which follows Langley’s 2024 debut Hungover. Executive produced by Langley, Lambert, and Ben West, the project has been positioned as a major step forward in both scale and sound.
