Halle Bailey has officially arrived as a solo artist — and her debut album, Love? Or Something Like It, is a statement of independence, emotion, and artistry. Released via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, the 14-track project marks her first full-length release apart from her sister duo, Chloe x Halle. Blending soulful R&B with cinematic storytelling, the album captures the beauty and ache of first love, heartbreak, and everything that follows.
Years in the making, Love? Or Something Like It showcases Halle’s vocal prowess, while fully realizing her storytelling. Featuring appearances from GloRilla, Chlöe, and H.E.R., the album also showcases Halle’s versatility, mixing delicate ballads with smooth, beat-driven tracks. The record builds upon her solo singles “Angel,” “In Your Hands,” “Back and Forth,” and “Braveface.” Halle first announced Love? Or Something Like It on October 8 through a poetic Instagram post and short film, calling it a project that “means everything to me.” The visual teaser began with the line, “Once upon a time, there was a girl who believed in love.” It’s a fitting prelude for an album that reads like a modern fairy tale — not one about perfect endings, but about finding strength in the story itself.
