THE BOYZ are facing a deepening contract dispute after nine members declared their exclusive agreements with ONE HUNDRED Label terminated, citing unpaid earnings and contractual breaches. The agency rejected the termination on March 19, 2026, setting the stage for a potential legal confrontation that could determine the group’s immediate future.
Through their legal representative, members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric confirmed they sent a certified notice to CEO Cha Ga-won on February 10. In the statement, they alleged that “the agency has not paid proper settlement payments to the artists for any activities since July 2025,” pointing to a halt in earnings following the second-quarter settlement that year.
Access to financial transparency has become a central issue. The members stated that, “despite the artists repeatedly requesting access to basic materials such as contracts to verify transparency in settlements, the agency refused without justifiable reason,” describing this as a failure to meet “fundamental and essential obligations under the exclusive contract.” Their legal team also referenced reports suggesting the company secured advance payments worth tens of billions of won tied to the group’s activities, adding that the agency “failed to provide any responsible explanation or convincing clarification” regarding those funds.
Operational breakdowns further intensified the situation. The statement claims that ONE HUNDRED Label “failed to properly support the necessary costs for the artists’ activities” and “effectively abandoned normal management duties by delaying payments to staff… for several months.” Members described the resulting conditions as overwhelming, noting that “the psychological distress and pressure… are indescribable,” ultimately leading to what they called a “difficult and weighty decision” to terminate their contracts after negotiations collapsed.
Despite the dispute, the group emphasized continuity for fans and partners. “They have made the difficult decision to proceed with the April concert,” the statement reads, adding that they will “responsibly and faithfully carry out all previously scheduled activities.”
The agency’s response sharply contradicts those claims. In its March 19 statement, ONE HUNDRED Label said, “We cannot accept the demand for contract termination,” arguing that contracts were signed with all 11 members under the expectation of full-group activities. Executives stated that “we paid a substantial signing bonus to each member,” and claimed that internal controversies and a member’s departure disrupted that framework, making normal operations difficult. The company also asserted it had absorbed “significant financial losses” to maintain group activities under those circumstances.
The conflict arrives less than two years after THE BOYZ joined ONE HUNDRED Label in December 2024, following their departure from IST Entertainment. Founded in 2023 by MC Mong and Cha Ga-won, the label positioned itself as a new home for established acts seeking a different management model. That vision is now under scrutiny as both sides present sharply opposing accounts of financial management and contractual responsibility.
