Anitta has set her next era in motion. The Brazilian star revealed that her upcoming album EQUILIBRIVM will arrive on April 16, sharing the news on March 30 as part of her 33rd birthday celebrations.

The birthday is mine, but the gift is ours! Let’s get started…,” she wrote alongside a teaser video featuring a white chapel set against misty mountain landscapes. The title, translating to “equilibrium,” signals a shift toward a more introspective direction, aligning with themes of self-reflection that have increasingly shaped her recent releases.

The announcement follows the release of lead single “Pinterest” earlier this month, a track rooted in personal identity and resilience. At the time, Anitta shared a detailed message outlining the inspiration behind the song: “Whenever I need to feel strong or believe in my personal power… I think about the story of that day in the photos from my childhood.” She continued, “For me, my greatest inspiration in life will always be myself as a child… whenever I remember my purest essence, the Larissa from childhood, I fall in love with myself all over again.”

Anitta began teasing the album in early February, when she confirmed its title. She revealed that the project will consist of two parts, one entirely sung in Portuguese, and the other in English and Spanish. She also explained that she wanted to focus on her Brazilian roots, which is why there will be no international guest appearances. Instead, she gave space to local artists, with confirmed features from Luedji Luna, Rincon Sapiência, and King. Additionally, EQUILIBRIVM will be a reggae record.

On April 11, Anitta will make her debut as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, appearing alongside host Colman Domingo. The performance is widely expected to introduce new material from the album, potentially marking the first live glimpse into the EQUILIBRIVM era.

EQUILIBRIVM arrives nearly two years after her sixth album Funk Generation. That album was deeply rooted in funk culture. It was highly praised and secured several accolades, including Best Latin Video (“Mil Veces”) at the MTV Video Music Awards, and earned two Latin Grammy Awards nominations, as well as a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.
