BTS extend their dominance on the U.S. charts with another historic debut. “Swim” launches at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the group’s sixth song to debut atop the ranking—more than any group in history. With this, BTS also become the first group ever to debut simultaneously at No. 1 on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 multiple times.
Beyond its Hot 100 performance, “Swim” delivers career highs across Billboard’s component charts. The track opens at No. 2 on Streaming Songs, their highest placement to date, while entering Radio Songs at No. 18, their strongest debut on the tally. On Digital Song Sales, it debuts at No. 1, securing BTS’ 13th leader, an all-time record among groups.
Globally, BTS continue to expand their reach. “Swim” debuts at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., marking their record-extending eighth No. 1 on the former. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, the group places ten tracks from ARIRANG inside the top 10, becoming the first act in history to occupy the entire region simultaneously.
The achievement caps an already massive week. ARIRANG debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 641,000 album-equivalent units, earning BTS their seventh chart-topper and the biggest U.S. week ever recorded for a K-pop album. The figure surpasses their previous high set by MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, which opened with 422,000 units in 2020.
Earlier releases continue to define the category’s ceiling, with PROOF following at 314,000 units. As a result, BTS now hold the three largest debut weeks for any K-pop act in Billboard history. Within the broader market, ARIRANG ranks as the eighth biggest debut of the 2020s in the United States, trailing only 30 by Adele and six separate releases from Taylor Swift.
