Rosalía has done it again. The Spanish superstar continues to redefine the global reach of Latin pop with LUX, which has officially become the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history by a Spanish-speaking female artist. Released on November 7, LUX amassed an astonishing 42.3 million first-day streams — more than doubling the debut numbers of her 2022 breakthrough Motomami, which opened with 16 million. Previously, the record was held by Karol G, whose 2023 album Mañana Será Bonito debuted with 35.7 million streams.

With LUX, Rosalía expands her artistic universe, delivering an album that is both lyrically raw and sonically ambitious. The LP has already received widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike for its visionary production and emotional depth.

The project’s breakout single, “La Perla,” has quickly become an instant hit, earning nearly 4.5 million streams on its first day and debuting at No. 5 on Spotify’s Global Chart. Fans were quick to connect its lyrics to Rosalía’s public breakup with Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro. The track also marked the biggest streaming day for a female Latin artist in 2025.

In addition, all 15 tracks from LUX debuted on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart. Other standout entries include “Berghain” at No. 7 (4 million streams), “Reliquia” at No. 10 (3.6 million), and “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas” at No. 11 (3.6 million).

Compared to Motomami — which grew into a cultural juggernaut over time, earning Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album at the Latin Grammys, plus a Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album — LUX is an immediate blockbuster.
