The first hints arrived three days ago during the American Idol season finale when Katy bid farewell to the show after seven years as a judge. The pop star performed “What Makes a Woman” from her 2020 album “Smile” with finalist Jack Blocker. Her performance was adorned with a massive skirt featuring the faces of past contestants from her seven seasons on the show. “There it is… 7 years,” she wrote in an Instagram post. However, all eyes were on another post. Just before the last episode, the 39-year-old singer shared some photos and a short clip to show fans her outfit for the season finale. In that post, she wrote, “7 roses for 7 seasons,” referring to her time on American Idol, followed by the number “143.” During her performance, fans also noticed a lot of butterfly confetti, which many think is a reference to the new album.
Today (May 22nd), Katy made another step forward by updating her official logo and social media theme with a strong red background. The same theme now appears on all of her songs on Spotify. Fueling even more excitement among fans is Capitol Records, the label Katy is signed to. The label’s X/Twitter account has changed its profile picture to the pop star’s logo and posted a link to her official website, now updated with the red theme mentioned above. Furthermore, a few hours ago, Katy created a broadcast channel named “143” on Instagram, inviting followers to join. In the channel, she shared a six-second voice note in which she says, “In case you didn’t know, today is the 143rd day of the year. I love you.”
