The Eras Tour: The Surprise Songs Taylor Swift Performed In Lisbon

Taylor Swift continues to enchant her fans in Europe with her The Eras Tour. Over the last couple of days, the “Fortnight” singer performed at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal. As is customary for this European leg, Paramore served as the opening act for both Portuguese dates, with Hayley Williams celebrating Swifties by calling them one of the most dedicated fan bases in the world. Then Taylor kicked off the first night by igniting excitement in the crowd, saying, “When I first appeared, you took my breath away. My heart was beating so fast.” The pop superstar is known for introducing something new at every show, particularly her outfits, but all eyes—and ears—are always on the surprise songs she chooses to perform at each show.

As usual, Taylor performed songs from her entire discography, from her self-titled album to “The Tortured Poets Department.” When the moment for the surprise songs arrived, the 34-year-old literally surprised the crowd. During the opening night in Lisbon, she first performed a triple song mashup with “Come Back… Be Here,” “The Way I Loved You,” and “The Other Side of the Door,” followed by a medley of “Fresh Out the Slammer,” performed live for the first time, and “High Infidelity.” On the second night, during the Surprise Songs segment, she gave a first live performance of “The Tortured Poets Department,” mixed with “Now That We Don’t Talk,” and then sang a medley of “You’re On Your Own, Kid” and “Long Live.”

Taylor is now preparing to wrap up this first month of the European leg of The Eras Tour with two shows in Spain, set to take place at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid on May 29th and 30th.
