Coi Leray is giving Kehlani her flowers — and then some. The rapper took to Instagram Stories this week to praise Kehlani’s hit single “Folded,” calling it one of the most powerful songs of the year and worthy of Grammy recognition.
“Folded is a #1 record,” Coi wrote. “I don’t think you understand how powerful and amazing that song is. The ad-libs? Come on — when’s the last time you heard somebody deliver like that? I got a big ear for music, and I know for a fact that song is a #1 record and deserves a Grammy.”

Released as a single earlier this year, “Folded” became a viral sensation on TikTok, with its vulnerable lyrics and soulful delivery striking a chord among fans. The song peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay Chart, marking one of Kehlani’s most successful solo tracks in recent years. It blends the singer’s signature R&B melody, and gospel undertones.
Kehlani, who is currently gearing up for her next studio album due in 2026, has yet to respond to Coi’s praise — but the timing couldn’t be better. Just last week, she confirmed in an interview with Billboard that she’s officially “in album mode” again. The announcement came through a touching moment with her five-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi, who asked her mom if she was working on new music. Kehlani smiled and confirmed: “You know I’m working on a new album, girl. It’s coming next year.”
Fans are also anticipating Kehlani’s upcoming single “Out the Window,” which she teased multiple times this month.
