Austin City Limits 2026 reaches its first weekend finale on Sunday, October 4, with The xx and Twenty One Pilots set for a headliner clash that will force fans to choose between two very different closing sets. The final day of Weekend One brings indie rock, electronic acts and festival favorites to Zilker Park before ACL returns for its second weekend on October 9.
Sunday’s biggest decision comes at 8:30 p.m., when Twenty One Pilots take the American Express stage just five minutes before The xx headline the T-Mobile stage at 8:35. Both sets are scheduled for the official livestream, giving viewers at home the chance to catch both performances even if fans inside Zilker Park have to pick one.
Twenty One Pilots arrive in Austin behind Breach, their September 2025 album that completed the narrative arc connecting Blurryface, Trench, Scaled and Icy and Clancy. Their festival run has continued to bring that era to major stages, making the ACL headline slot another major stop for a band with a long history of theatrical live performances.
The xx, meanwhile, were one of the most talked-about names when the 2026 Austin City Limits lineup was unveiled in May. Their Sunday night appearance gives the festival a more atmospheric closing option, with the British trio taking over the T-Mobile stage as the final night unfolds around them.
The hours leading into the headliners are packed with major acts. Geese play the T-Mobile stage at 6:20 p.m., while Sofi Tukker take the American Express stage at 6:30. Parcels, Blood Orange and The War on Drugs then fill the evening with overlapping sets around the 7:20–8:30 window.
The first weekend has already delivered plenty of memorable moments. Friday opened with roughly half an inch of rain leaving sections of Zilker Park muddy, although the weather did not cause delays. Turnstile turned the T-Mobile pit into a full mosh zone, while Skrillex and Charli XCX closed the two biggest stages. Charli’s set also delivered a surprise appearance from Troye Sivan, who joined her for “Le Boy” and “Party” instead of the hoped-for Lorde collaboration.
Saturday shifted to a later 2 p.m. start as crews worked through the muddy conditions, with Lorde and Rüfüs Du Sol ultimately facing another major closing-time split. Now, Sunday brings the first weekend to its final note, while ACL’s 25th anniversary celebration prepares to reset for Weekend Two.
