Roskilde Festival 2026 officially enters its main concert program on Wednesday, July 1, as the festival’s biggest stages welcome the first wave of headline performances. After several days of warm-up events, attendees at Dyrskuepladsen in Roskilde, Denmark, can finally experience the full-scale production that has made the festival one of Europe’s most influential music gatherings.
Running from June 27 through July 4, Roskilde remains Northern Europe’s largest music and cultural festival, bringing together more than 130,000 participants and approximately 32,000 volunteers. Since 1971, the non-profit event has balanced international superstars with emerging artists while directing proceeds toward humanitarian causes.
Wednesday also marks the debut of Roskilde’s newly expanded Orange Stage, with Danish artist Pil receiving the prestigious honor of opening the venue.
Wolf Alice follows at 7:30 PM, bringing their acclaimed alternative rock catalog ahead of one of the day’s most anticipated performances. The Cure headline the Orange Stage at 10:00 PM, celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary. Returning after their celebrated three-hour Roskilde performance in 2019, Robert Smith and company are expected to blend classics such as “Just Like Heaven,” “Friday I’m in Love,” and “Boys Don’t Cry” with material from their acclaimed 2024 album Songs of a Lost World.
The Arena Stage offers a completely different sonic direction. JADE takes over at 9:45 PM, continuing the solo success she has built since Little Mix entered hiatus. Her debut album That’s Showbiz Baby! became one of the UK’s biggest debut releases of 2025.
Immediately afterward, Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid closes the Arena beginning at 12:00 AM. The masked artist emerged as one of UK rap’s fastest-rising names through his mixtape Rebel, which reached No. 23 on the Billboard 200. Viral attention surrounding his collaboration with Timothée Chalamet on “4 Raws” only expanded his profile, making his Roskilde debut one of Wednesday night’s biggest talking points.
