BLACKPINK’s long-awaited comeback era is finally coming into focus, and fans have JISOO to thank for the latest update. In a new interview with ELLE Korea, the “Eyes Closed” singer offered a glimpse into the group’s tightly guarded release plans, confirming that BLACKPINK’s new album will arrive in early 2026. The project marks their first full-length release since 2022’s Born Pink and stands among the most anticipated returns in global pop.
JISOO, who is currently balancing preparations for both her next solo album and the group’s comeback, described this period as one driven entirely by creativity. “Since I’m preparing for my next solo album, as well as BLACKPINK’s new album to be released early next year, I feel like I’m living solely within music,” she shared. “I’m still excited because when I feel and find new emotions in new music, I want to let everyone hear it quickly.”
The update arrives after weeks of mounting speculation. Earlier this month, YG confirmed that the new album—originally rumored for late 2025—would instead launch at the start of 2026, citing a final push to “increase musical perfection.” The label revealed that BLACKPINK has been filming a new music video throughout October and November, working closely with their production team to match the level of detail and ambition expected from the group’s visuals. JISOO also hinted at the progress during a fan event in Seoul, enthusiastically revealing, “Comeback preparations…? It’s almost done! We filmed the music video.”
The momentum follows the success of the group’s 2025 single “Jump,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and marked their tenth entry on the Hot 100. The track reaffirmed BLACKPINK’s global dominance and earned three nominations at the 2025 MAMA Awards, including Song of the Year.
As the group continues their Deadline World Tour across Asia, anticipation for new music grows daily. Their last full-length project, Born Pink, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming the first album by a girl group to reach the top of the chart in 14 years.
