Irene is preparing to return to the spotlight with a major new solo release. The Red Velvet leader has officially announced her first full-length album Biggest Fan, set to arrive on March 30 through SM Entertainment.
The announcement was accompanied by a distinctive teaser video that quickly captured fans’ attention online. The 50-second clip is styled like a retro 1990s infomercial, advertising a fictional beauty product called “Biggest Fantasy Switch.” In the video, Irene appears in colorful pink-and-orange salon sets, striking playful poses while the tongue-in-cheek commercial aesthetic builds toward the final reveal of the album title.
The upcoming LP marks Irene’s first solo comeback since the release of Like A Flower, her debut mini-album issued on November 26, 2024. That project featured eight tracks and was led by the title song “Like A Flower,” a dreamy pop record highlighting the vocalist’s soft tone and understated delivery.
The mini-album was well received commercially, debuting at No. 1 on the South Korean album chart and establishing Irene as a strong solo presence outside her group activities.
News of a full-length follow-up had been circulating for several weeks. In late February 2026, SM Entertainment confirmed that Irene was preparing her first solo comeback in LP format.
Beyond her individual work, Irene has remained active within Red Velvet and its subunit Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi, which she formed with fellow member Seulgi in 2020. The duo debuted with the extended play Monster, later returning in 2025 with their follow-up release Tilt.
