Jisoo is making her stance on April Fools’ Day clear. The BLACKPINK star shared a candid message with fans on April 2, explaining why she deliberately avoided posting on April 1.

Writing via her official BLISSOO fan app, Jisoo addressed the timing directly: “Hi!!! I’m the kind of person who hates April Fools’ Day(?) so I came on April 2nd!! hehe I refuse to accept a day where ‘legal lies’ are allowed and you can’t even tell what’s true and what’s fake.”

Her decision to wait until April 2 was intentional. By skipping the traditional posting window, she avoided the confusion that often defines April 1 online, where announcements, jokes, and fabricated news blur together.

The message arrives during a transitional period in Jisoo’s solo career. Following a busy 2025 that saw the release of her debut mini-album Amortage, she is now preparing her first full-length studio album, expected later in 2026. That project will follow both BLACKPINK’s new mini album Deadline earlier this year and her recent acting role in the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand. In late 2025, Jisoo said that Taylor Swift and Britney Spears were her major influences when working on her music and visuals.

Released in February 2025, the Amortage showcased a blend of emotional balladry and polished pop, with tracks like “Earthquake,” “Your Love,” and “Hugs & Kisses” highlighting her vocal range. The era extended into late 2025 with “Eyes Closed,” a duet with Zayn that debuted strongly across global charts. Recognition followed that momentum. Jisoo was named the InMusic Most Influential Artist of 2025, reflecting both her musical output and her expanding presence in film and television.
