ROSÉ has rewritten YouTube history. The music video for “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars recently surpassed 2.375 billion views on YouTube, becoming the most-watched music video by a female K-pop artist on the platform and overtaking the long-standing record set by BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
That milestone highlights just how dominant female K-pop acts have become in the video era. Over the past decade, a relatively small group of artists has produced many of the platform’s biggest global hits, turning music videos into cultural events measured not only in streams but in billions of views.
Several of the most-watched videos belong to BLACKPINK, whose visual style and blockbuster releases helped redefine the genre’s digital reach. Songs like “Kill This Love,” “BOOMBAYAH,” and “How You Like That” have each accumulated well over one billion views.
Solo members have also carved their own space within that ecosystem. LISA’s performance-driven “Money” video crossed the billion-view threshold, while JENNIE’s solo debut “Solo” remains one of the most successful individual releases by a K-pop female artist.
