As the final hours of 2025 unfold, the year stands as one of the most creatively dynamic chapters in modern K-pop. Across twelve months, the industry delivered bold reinventions, confident solo statements, and group releases that pushed the genre forward while honoring its roots.

The first half of the year was marked by transformation and artistic clarity. (G)I-DLE formally entered a new era as i-dle, unveiling their sixth Korean EP We Are. At the same time, solo ventures took center stage. Seulgi of Red Velvet showcased remarkable range, first pairing with Irene for the sleek and experimental mini album Tilt, then returning later with her second solo effort Accidentally on Purpose.

Solo debuts also defined the year’s narrative. ITZY’s Yeji launched her individual career with Air, while ITZY themselves returned with Girls Will Be Girls. Among male soloists, BTS member Jin delivered one of the year’s most resonant releases with Echo. The EP leaned into introspection and warmth. JISOO of BLACKPINK further solidified her solo identity with AMORTAGE.

The second half of 2025 maintained the momentum with fewer releases but greater impact. Stray Kids dominated charts and conversation with Karma.

Notably, this ranking excludes LISA’s Alter Ego and JENNIE’s Ruby. While both albums were commercially significant, their Western label releases and primarily English-language focus place them outside the traditional scope of Korean K-pop projects. Here is our ranking of the best K-Pop projects of the year.
