The announcement will cover all 100 Grammy categories, spanning major fields such as pop, rap, R&B, rock, country, Latin, and dance/electronic music. The 2027 ceremony will also introduce five new Grammy categories, reflecting changes to the awards’ approach to recognizing music and the people behind it. Among the additions is Best Asian Pop Music Performance, which will recognize recordings from contemporary Asian pop markets, including K-pop, J-pop, and C-pop. The new categories also include Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Traditional Folk Album, and Best Latin Song.
The Recording Academy has additionally introduced rule changes affecting eligibility, category definitions, evaluation criteria, and the voting process for the upcoming awards. The updates arrive as the Grammys continue to expand their recognition of artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, and other music creators across a broad range of genres.
