When Positions dropped on October 30, 2020, it was a instant hit. The album, released through Republic Records, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning Ariana her fifth chart-topping project. Featuring collaborations with The Weeknd, Doja Cat, and Ty Dolla $ign, the record blended sultry R&B with pop sophistication. Its lead single “Positions” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, while follow-up hits like “34+35” and “POV” became fan favorites and amassed millions of streams.  The Positions era was also marked by major milestones. The album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album and ranked among the top-selling albums of 2020.

While the Positions anniversary brings a sense of nostalgia, it also serves as a reminder of Ariana’s ongoing evolution. Her latest project, Eternal Sunshine (2024), continued her creative momentum, producing acclaimed singles like “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” and “Twilight Zone.” That album earned the hitmaker yet another Grammy nomination.
