Beyoncé will return to one of fashion’s biggest stages as a co-chair of the 2026 Met Gala, Vogue announced on December 10. The appointment marks her first major involvement with the event in nearly a decade. Her last iconic appearance came in 2016, when she walked the “Manus x Machina” red carpet in a custom latex Givenchy gown that became an instant cultural reference point.
For 2026, Beyoncé joins Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and longtime Met Gala steward Anna Wintour to lead the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s most prestigious annual event. The upcoming edition, set for Monday, May 4, will embrace the theme Costume Art, highlighting the evolution of fashion as a form of artistic expression.
In addition, committee features stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, BLACKPINK’s LISA, Sam Smith and Teyana Taylor.
