Chappell Roan and Christina Aguilera joined forces for a surprise duet of “Coffee” on October 22, delivering one of the most memorable moments of The Super Graphic Spectacular in Los Angeles. The performance brought together two distinctive pop voices at the Shrine Auditorium, with Aguilera’s powerhouse vocals adding a new dimension to the emotionally vulnerable track from Roan’s debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Fan-recorded videos of the collaboration quickly circulated online, capturing Roan’s theatrical stage presence alongside Aguilera’s commanding vocal delivery. Rather than choosing one of Roan’s explosive, dance-driven hits, the pair performed “Coffee,” a song built around the complicated boundaries people try to establish when reconnecting with an ex.

Released on Chappell Roan’s 2023 debut album, “Coffee” offers a more intimate side of the singer’s songwriting. The track explores the uneasy space between moving on and wanting one more conversation, using an ordinary coffee date as a way to negotiate emotional distance. Roan has previously described writing the song around the boundaries she hoped to maintain during a potential reunion in New York, although the situation ultimately proved less straightforward than planned.

The duet also provided a major musical highlight for the first night of The Super Graphic Spectacular, a two-night charity fundraiser organized by Roan’s nonprofit, the Midwest Princess Project. Held October 21–22 at the historic Shrine Auditorium, the event marks the organization’s first anniversary and brings together pop performers, alternative artists, drag performers, comedians, burlesque acts, and cirque artists in a celebration of queer culture and visibility.

Founded by Chappell Roan in 2025, the Midwest Princess Project supports transgender youth and LGBTQ+ communities through funding, resources, and connections with organizations providing direct assistance. During its first year, the nonprofit raised more than $800,000 and supported over 60 organizations across locations including Los Angeles, New York, and Missouri. All net proceeds from the fundraiser are intended to help expand that work, turning Roan’s growing influence into practical support for the communities at the heart of the project.

The October 22 lineup also features Caroline Polachek and MUNA, alongside performers including Alisa Mae, Fantasia Royale Gaga, and Sweaty Eddie. Comedian Caleb Hearon hosts both nights. The first evening featured Lola Young, Tinashe, and additional guests, giving the event two distinct lineups under the same charitable mission.
