Freya Skye has released her new single “bad taste,” arriving September 16 as the rising pop star prepares to resume her sold-out Stars Align Tour. The release follows the song’s early life as a fan favorite on the road and arrives just three days before Freya continues her headline run in Santa Barbara, California.

“bad taste” first emerged during Freya’s first-ever headlining show in New York City, where she performed the song acoustically. After audiences responded strongly to the track across the early legs of the Stars Align Tour, Freya brought it into the studio to record its official version.

The release begins a packed week for the singer. The “bad taste” music video is scheduled to premiered September 17, one day after the single, while a limited 7-inch vinyl edition arrived in stores today (Sept. 18).

Freya’s touring schedule is expanding at the same time. Following the continuation of her sold-out Stars Align Tour, she has announced a major headline run across Latin America and Asia, marking her biggest international touring expansion to date. The 2027 dates begin January 18 in Mexico City before stops in Bogotá, Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo. The Asian leg begins February 12 in Bangkok and continues through Singapore, Manila, Tokyo, Seoul and Taipei.

The scale of Freya’s shows has also changed dramatically within a single year. She has gone from performing for audiences of around 200 to venues accommodating more than 4,000 fans, with some markets reaching as many as 7,000 tickets since January. She also recently headlined her first-ever concerts in Australia, adding another milestone to a year defined by international growth.

“bad taste” follows Freya Skye’s breakout “silent treatment,” which reached the Top 10 on Mediabase’s Top 40 Pop Radio Chart and received support from radio platforms and networks across the U.K., Australia and other international markets. Her stardust EP also reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Vinyl Chart and UK Vinyl Charts.

The momentum extends beyond music. Freya partnered with Hollister on an exclusive merchandise collection that sold out shortly after launch, while time between tour dates has been spent writing and recording material for her highly anticipated debut album.
