Hilary Duff is adding a new song to her comeback era. The 39-year-old singer has announced “CATastrophe,” the title track from Warner Bros.’ upcoming animated The Cat in the Hat movie, with the new single set to arrive Friday, October 2.
Duff revealed the news through a 16-second teaser that leans into the film’s feline theme while keeping the song itself under wraps. In the clip, she packs moving boxes labeled “HILARY’S STUFF,” handles the character’s instantly recognizable red-and-white striped hat and eventually reveals the October 2 release date.

“CATastrophe” will serve as the title track for the upcoming animated adaptation of The Cat in the Hat, which stars Bill Hader as the voice of the Cat and is scheduled to arrive in theaters in November 2026. Duff’s involvement gives the film a direct connection to one of pop’s most recognizable comeback stories of the year, following the release of her first album in more than a decade.
The announcement comes just months after Luck… or Something, Duff’s sixth studio album and first full-length project since 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out. Released in February 2026, the album marked a major return to music after Hilary Duff spent much of the past decade balancing acting, family life and other projects.
That comeback has also expanded onto the stage. The Lucky Me Tour launched with two shows in West Palm Beach on June 21 and 22, marking Duff’s first global headlining tour since The Dignity Tour concluded in early 2008. The run has since grown substantially, with additional dates added at major venues including Madison Square Garden, Kia Forum, London’s O2 Arena, Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
Recently, Hilary Duff announced another 32 dates on September 23, extending The Lucky Me Tour through November 20, 2027. The expanded routing includes a European leg beginning May 7 in Madrid, followed by stops in Milan, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Copenhagen and Stockholm. Latin American shows are scheduled for August, before another U.S. arena run begins October 1 in Sunrise, Florida.
