KATSEYE’s Sophia will return to group activities in January 2027, giving fans the first clear timeline for her comeback after an extended break focused on her health and well-being.

The update marks the first major announcement about Sophia’s schedule in more than a month. She previously missed the entire European and UK opening leg of KATSEYE’s tour, which began September 1, after the company said she needed additional time for rest and ongoing care.

“Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources,” HYBE x Geffen said in the notice. The company added that it looks forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE enters a new chapter in 2027, while thanking EYEKONS for their continued support of the singer and the group.

Sophia had addressed fans herself on August 31 after her absence from the opening tour dates was confirmed. In an emotional Instagram Story, she said she was receiving ongoing treatment and focusing on her mental well-being, while making clear how much she wanted to perform alongside her members again.

“I can’t express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all,” Sophia wrote at the time, emphasizing that health and mental well-being should come first. She also reassured fans that she remained connected to KATSEYE, saying she had been watching the group’s performances and was eager to eventually return to the stage with her “sisters.”

Her hiatus followed an earlier illness-related absence on July 30, when she missed KATSEYE’s performance at the 2026 Hinterland Music Festival. Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae performed as a four-member lineup that night.

KATSEYE subsequently entered its biggest commercial era yet. WILD debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated August 29 with 170,000 equivalent album units, including 145,000 in pure album sales, giving the group its first chart-topping album.

Manon remains on hiatus.
