KATSEYE has scored its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, with WILD opening atop the chart dated August 29. The five-track EP earned 170,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., giving the global girl group its biggest chart week yet.
Released August 14 through HYBE x Geffen Records, WILD marks KATSEYE’s second top 10 project after Beautiful Chaos peaked at No. 4 in 2025. The new EP also delivered 145,000 pure album sales, making it the group’s biggest week in both total equivalent units and traditional album purchases.
WILD’s No. 1 debut places KATSEYE in a particularly exclusive group. The project becomes only the fourth album by an all-woman group to reach the top of the Billboard 200 during the 2020s, following BLACKPINK’s Born Pink in 2022, NewJeans’ Get Up in 2023 and TWICE’s With YOU-th in 2025.
The result also gives KATSEYE the largest pure-sales week for an all-woman group in more than three years. WILD’s 145,000 copies narrowly trail TWICE’s Ready To Be: 12th Mini Album, which opened with 146,000 sales in March 2023.
Streaming played a major role in the EP’s arrival. WILD generated approximately 10.75 million first-day streams on Spotify’s Global chart, surpassing the 8.29 million opening-day total recorded by Beautiful Chaos and establishing a new career high for KATSEYE.
The momentum surrounding WILD began building before its release. On Aug. 12, KATSEYE premiered KATSEYE: Wild Hearts, its first theatrical documentary, in roughly 720 to 750 North American theaters through Trafalgar Releasing. The limited event earned an estimated $3.95 million and opened at No. 5 at the U.S. box office.
Promotion continued throughout release week with a performance on NBC’s Today as part of the Citi Concert Series, followed by an appearance at D23. There, the group performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules while honoring Disney Legend Susan Egan.
