Released on August 15, “Imaginary Playerz” marks the second official single from Am I the Drama?, which arrives on September 19. The track finds Cardi drawing inspiration from Jay-Z’s 1997 classic “Imaginary Players,” reworking its swagger and smooth East Coast bounce into her own confident statement. More than just a casual nod, the song carries Jay-Z’s full approval—Cardi confirmed he cleared the sample and told her he “loved it.”

The single quickly shot up digital charts, debuting at No. 1 on iTunes and racking up more than 300,000 streams in the U.S. within its first day. Looking ahead, Cardi’s Am I the Drama? is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about albums of 2025.

Meanwhile, Kehlani is enjoying newfound success with her own music. Her latest single “Folded” has become her first solo entry in the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs top 10. In addition, the track continues to gain momentum on Spotify, now aiming for the top 100.
