Lady Gaga recently looked back on her 2013 album ARTPOP in an interview with Zane Lowe, describing it as a project that challenged expectations and pushed boundaries. Characterized by experimental production, bold themes, and a high-energy electronic sound, ARTPOP remains one of the most polarizing releases of her career.

It was very disruptive. It was not easy listening,” Gaga said during the interview. “It was me saying, ‘I’ll do what I want, I’ll do it my way.’ What’s so interesting is I always did that, but that record, to viewers, was so defiant.”

Upon its release, ARTPOP received mixed reviews from critics and fans. Some praised its daring creativity, while others found it chaotic and unpredictable. Nevertheless, the album topped several charts, including the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. Over the years, it has gained a loyal following, with many fans and music critics reassessing its impact.

Now, Gaga is gearing up for her new album, Mayhem, slated for release this Friday.
