Melanie Martinez has confirmed that her upcoming “utopian” companion album is already complete, expanding the scope of her Hades era just days before its official release. Speaking on March 25 during an appearance on Unfamous with Justin Tranter, the singer offered the clearest update yet on the second half of her double album concept.

They’re done. There might be a couple little tweaks,” Martinez said, referring to both projects. She added, “Yeah, we might add some last-minute ones to the utopian one now that we have some time,” suggesting the follow-up record is in its final stages despite not yet having a release date.

The confirmation builds on comments made one day earlier during her appearance on And The Writer Is, where Martinez first publicly revealed the dual-album structure. “It’s actually a double album, so ‘Hades’ is the dystopian album, and there’s a utopian album that will come later,” she said.

Set to arrive March 27, 2026 via Atlantic Records, Hades marks her first full-length project since 2023’s Portals. The 18-track record has been positioned as the darker half of the concept, rooted in themes Martinez has described in stark terms. “Each song on this record explores a different trap set by the kind of evil, patriarchal energy that is HADES,” she said in an earlier statement. “It isn’t about predicting a dystopian future. It’s about recognizing destructive patterns that already exist.

That conceptual framing has shaped the entire campaign. On January 28, 2026, Martinez wiped her social media accounts and official website before launching the era with the lead single “Possession.” A formal reveal followed in February, confirming the album’s title and release date while opening pre-orders and teasing the unreleased track “Garbage.” The second single, “Disney Princess,” arrived February 25.
