The Melon Music Awards 2025 is officially underway with the release of this year’s highly anticipated nominee list. Following the announcement of the Top 10 winners, Melon has now unveiled the artists competing for the Daesangs and major category awards.
G-Dragon, Jennie, ROSÈ, IVE and PLAVE dominate this year’s lineup with five nominations each. SEVENTEEN, IU, BABYMONSTER and TXT also earned multiple nods. The eligibility window for this year’s awards spanned from October 31, 2024 to November 19, 2025.
Melon also outlined the voting and scoring rules for each category. Except for the Millions Top 10 and Track Zero Choice awards, all categories will be determined through a weighted formula of 60 percent download and streaming performance, 20 percent judges’ evaluations and 20 percent fan votes. The Millions Top 10—which recognizes albums surpassing 1 million streams within 24 hours—will rely even more heavily on platform data, with 80 percent of the score based on downloads and streams and 20 percent on votes. Voting opens December 5 and will run until December 19, giving fans two full weeks to support their favorite artists.
This year’s Melon Music Awards will take place on December 20 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Over the past several weeks, performers such as G-Dragon, ILLIT and Hearts2Hearts have been confirmed for the show (full lineup).
