The post instantly reignited conversations about her sixth studio album NM6 and appeared to confirm what fans had been theorizing for weeks: a March 27, 2026 release date.

The tweet followed an earlier teaser from September 23, when Minaj first posted simply “3.27.26,” sparking intense fan theories.Minaj’s timing also caught attention, as the cryptic note came amid heightened online chatter about her recent social media exchanges and renewed comparisons with other female rappers.

The upcoming album follows Pink Friday 2, her 2023 blockbuster that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making Minaj the first female rapper in history to earn three No. 1 albums. The project produced several hits, including “Super Freaky Girl,” “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” and “FTCU.” Originally, Minaj planned to release a deluxe edition of Pink Friday 2, but she confirmed earlier this year that she scrapped those plans to record an entirely new project instead. “The new music is just too good to be thrown away,” she told fans during a 2024 livestream.

In a later interview with Vogue Italia, the rapper shared that this next album would be “intentional, honest, and unapologetically me,” hinting at a more personal tone compared to her past releases. “I’ve got a bunch of really strong tracks,” she said, “but I don’t want to rush. I want the record to mean something — for the fans and for me.”
