Olivia Rodrigo is back in the studio — and she’s doing it with a smile. In a new interview with ELLE, the 22-year-old Grammy winner revealed that she’s been hard at work crafting her next project, the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2023 album Guts. After spending much of the past year on the road for her sold-out Guts World Tour, Rodrigo says she’s been enjoying the creative freedom that comes with writing and recording again.

I’m working on new music and I’m having a lot of fun,” Rodrigo shared in a recent interview with ELLE. “It’s nice to be home from touring, to really get to sink my teeth into new songs and new sounds and new stories. I’m having a really good time.”

This update arrives just days after Olivia clarified that she has yet to finalize the title for her third studio album — or OR3, as fans have dubbed it online. Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar, the singer said she has “a few options twirling around” but hasn’t made a final decision. She also confirmed that she’s working with longtime collaborator Dan Nigro for OR3. The comment came after online speculation that the album would be titled Kiss, following a wave of viral social media rumors earlier this month. Meanwhile, she has officially wrapped up her Guts era with an intimate American Express show on Thursday, October 23.

Just like the Sour era, Guts was equally successful. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earned six Grammy nominations including Album of the Year, and produced multiple global hits such as “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?”. Rodrigo wrapped up the Guts World Tour earlier this year, which grossed nearly $200 million.
