Pascal Duvrier has issued a public statement addressing the hotel incident involving Jorginho’s daughter during Chappell Roan’s stay, taking full responsibility for the interaction that sparked widespread online debate. The statement, released days after the March 21 encounter, adds a new layer to a controversy that has quickly escalated across social platforms.
“I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st,” Duvrier said, clarifying that his actions were independent. He continued, “The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management or other individuals.” Framing the situation as a judgment call, he explained that his response was shaped by “information we obtained from the hotel, events I had witnessed days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location.” Addressing the tone of the exchange, he added, “My sole interaction with the mother was calm with good intentions, the outcome of the encounter is regretful.”
The statement follows a sequence of public responses that began with Jorginho’s account on March 21, in which the footballer alleged that his daughter approached Roan at a hotel breakfast before being confronted by a guard described as “extremely aggressive.” His remarks, including the pointed line “Without your fans, you would be nothing,” circulated widely, amplifying scrutiny around the singer despite her lack of direct involvement.
Roan responded the following day via Instagram Stories, distancing herself from the situation while acknowledging its impact. “I’m just going to tell my half of the story… I didn’t even see a woman and a child… no one came up to me,” she said, emphasizing that the security guard was not part of her personal team. Her message also included an apology directed toward the family: “I’m sorry to the mother and child… if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad.” The singer further addressed speculation around her attitude toward fans, stating, “People who are fans of my music—I do not hate children. That is crazy.”
