BTS are set to make a high-profile return to U.S. television with a two-night takeover of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week. On March 25 and 26, the K-pop group makes their first full-group late-night appearance since completing military service. The appearances arrive just days after the release of their fifth studio album Arirang, positioning the group at the center of one of the biggest global pop weeks of 2026.
Both episodes will air at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT (10:35 p.m. CT) on NBC, with next-day streaming available via Peacock. According to NBC, the rollout will be split across two nights: the in-studio interview and first performance will air on March 25, followed by a second performance on March 26. All seven members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—will participate, discussing their reunion and the creative process behind Arirang.
The appearance carries additional weight given the group’s recent trajectory. BTS completed mandatory military service by June 2025 after beginning enlistments in 2022, fulfilling South Korea’s 18–21 month requirement for male citizens. Their return to late-night television closes a five-year gap since their last group takeover in July 2021, which generated more than 120 million views across digital platforms and featured performances of “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
Momentum has accelerated rapidly since their comeback. Arirang, released March 20, debuted with 110 million streams on Spotify, driven by tracks including “Swim” and “Body to Body.” One day later, BTS staged a large-scale concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, drawing more than 100,000 attendees in person. The livestream extended globally through Netflix, where the event ultimately reached over 18 million viewers.
That sequence of releases, performances, and media appearances forms a tightly coordinated rollout ahead of the Arirang World Tour, which begins April 9, 2026, in Goyang. A behind-the-scenes documentary tied to the album is also scheduled to premiere on Netflix later this week.
