ROSÉ has set a new milestone on YouTube. The music video for “APT.” with Bruno Mars has become the most-viewed video by a female K-pop artist in the platform’s history, surpassing a long-standing benchmark set by BLACKPINK.

As of March 2026, “APT.” has reached 2.375 billion views, edging past BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” which previously held the record with 2.374 billion views. The narrow margin marks a symbolic passing of the torch between one of K-pop’s most dominant groups and one of its most successful solo stars.

Released on October 18, 2024, the single served as the lead track from ROSÉ’s debut studio album Rosie. The release arrived after a major career shift, becoming her first project since departing YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023 and signing with The Black Label alongside Atlantic Records.

The song’s global reach was immediate. “APT.” went on to spend 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, becoming both ROSÉ and Mars’ second chart-topping single. Earlier this year, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry named “APT.” the best-selling global single of 2025, marking the first time an artist outside North America or Europe topped the organization’s annual Global Single Chart.

Chart history followed across multiple markets. In South Korea, the song dominated the Circle Digital Chart for 10 weeks at No. 1. Australia delivered another breakthrough when the single became the first by a female K-pop soloist to top the ARIA Singles Chart. Japan delivered perhaps the most surprising result. “APT.” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, the first Western-language track to do so in more than a decade.

The video itself helped drive that momentum. Directed by Bruno Mars and Daniel Ramos, the clip features ROSÉ and Mars performing as a garage band inside a vibrant pink set, trading vocals in black leather jackets while leaning into a playful retro aesthetic.

Streaming numbers accelerated rapidly. “APT.” became the fastest music video by an Asian act to reach one billion views on YouTube and one of the fastest songs ever to cross one billion streams on Spotify.

“APT.” collected Song of the Year honors at the Asia Artist Awards, MAMA Awards and MTV Video Music Awards, while also winning International Song of the Year at the Brit Awards—a historic first for a K-pop artist.

Recognition reached the Grammys as well. “APT.” earned three nominations at the Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, becoming the most-nominated track ever by a K-pop artist.
