Taylor Swift’s The Encore has wasted no time making an impact in Australia, sending The Life of a Showgirl from No. 23 back to No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The four-track expansion, released September 25, has also reshaped the Australian singles chart, with Swift occupying four of the top five positions.
The Encore arrives as a four-song addition to The Life of a Showgirl, bringing together “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.” The release had already made an immediate impact globally, generating 40.5 million first-day Spotify streams and placing all four new tracks inside the platform’s Global Top 4 on release day.

In Australia, that momentum has translated into a dramatic rebound for the album. After falling to No. 23 last week, The Life of a Showgirl rockets back to the summit.
The four Encore tracks are also dominating the singles chart. “Patient Zero” leads the way at No. 1, giving Swift her 15th Australian chart-topper and her second of 2026. “I Knew It, I Knew You” previously spent one week at No. 1 in June, while “The Fate of Ophelia” also enjoyed an extended run at the summit last year.
Taylor Swift follows “Patient Zero” with “Cleveland!” at No. 3, “Babylon” at No. 4 and “Pink Clouding” at No. 5. The result means four of the five highest-charting singles in Australia this week belong to the same artist and the same newly expanded album.
“The Fate of Ophelia,” the original lead single from The Life of a Showgirl, also gets a second wind, climbing from No. 14 to No. 10. The track previously spent six weeks at No. 1 across October and November, and its latest resurgence brings Swift’s career total to 69 Australian top 10 singles.
Taylor Swift is not the only major story in this week’s Australian album rankings. Julia Jacklin lands at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart with The Gem, while also reaching No. 1 on the Australian Albums Chart and the Vinyl Chart.
Nessa Barrett debuts at No. 7 with Tough Love, marking her third studio album and her first appearance inside the Australian top 50. Nothing But Thieves follow at No. 9 with Stray Dogs, their fifth album and their second Australian top 10 after Moral Panic reached No. 8 in 2020. Tinashe rounds out the top 10 at No. 10 with Popular, her eighth studio album and first top-50 appearance in the market.
