When four major artists drop new music on the same day, competition is inevitable—but this week, Twenty One Pilots came out on top. In our weekly fan-voted poll conducted on X/Twitter, the duo’s latest album Breach was crowned the best new release of the week, pulling in an impressive 48% of the votes.

The poll pitted four high-profile releases against each other: Ed Sheeran’s new album Play (3%), Jade Thirlwall’s solo debut That’s Showbiz Baby! (24%), and Demi Lovato’s new single “Here All Night” (26%). Despite strong showings from Lovato and Jade, it was Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun’s much-anticipated record that fans rallied behind.

Released September 12, Breach is Twenty One Pilots’ eighth studio album and marks the final chapter in their decade-long conceptual saga, which began with 2015’s Blurryface. Across 13 tracks, the album ties together storylines from Trench (2018), Scaled and Icy (2021), and Clancy (2024). Songs like “The Contract” and “City Walls” showcase the duo’s signature balance of dark themes and anthemic choruses, while “Drum Show” features drummer Josh Dun stepping up to the mic for the first time.

The album has been widely praised by fans, who hail it as the perfect conclusion to an incredible era. Breach’s impact was immediate, reaching the top spot on US iTunes and aiming for next week’s No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The other releases have also secured massive support. Ed Sheeran opened his new symbol era with Play, which leans into big pop with global influences. Jade’s That’s Showbiz Baby! made a strong impact, with the Little Mix alum delivering a record that seamlessly balances pop anthems with visual storytelling that has fans buzzing. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato’s “Here All Night” continues the pop star’s momentum ahead of her upcoming ninth studio album.
