Zayn is crediting his daughter Khai for one of his most high-profile collaborations. Speaking during a recent appearance on SiriusXM, the singer revealed that her love for K-pop played a direct role in his decision to work with Jisoo.

She’s into TWICE, she’s into BLACKPINK,” Zayn said, explaining how her listening habits shaped his creative choices. That influence ultimately led to their duet “Eyes Closed.” “That was kind of a big reason why I did the feature with Jisoo, if I’m being honest,” he said. “My daughter’s such a big fan and I wanted to be cool. I got some good dad points for that.”

Released on October 10, 2025, “Eyes Closed” marked the first collaboration between Zayn and Jisoo and quickly gained traction across platforms. The track debuted in the Top 3 on U.S. iTunes, trended globally on YouTube, and generated millions of streams on Spotify within its first 24 hours.

Zayn publicly celebrated the partnership at the time, calling Jisoo “an absolute legend” in an Instagram post shared October 13, alongside behind-the-scenes images from the music video shoot. Jisoo responded with her own message of appreciation, describing the experience as “truly special” and highlighting the collaborative chemistry behind the release.

The renewed attention comes as Zayn approaches the release of his fifth studio album Konnakol, scheduled for April 17. The project signals a shift toward more culturally rooted influences, with its title referencing South Indian vocal percussion techniques. Singles “Die for Me” and “Sideways” have already pointed to a return to the R&B textures that defined Mind of Mine.
