Doechii has surprise-released a new single, “BOMBS,” alongside a striking visual from her Swamp Sessions series, while sharing a handwritten statement outlining her ambitions for her upcoming debut studio album. The Grammy-winning rapper’s latest release is currently available exclusively on YouTube, giving fans a fresh look at the creative direction she is developing for her next chapter.

The “BOMBS” video embraces the dark, cinematic aesthetic that has become central to Doechii’s Swamp Sessions. Moving between swamp-like surroundings, shadowy caves and sandy landscapes, the performance visual pairs dramatic lighting with textured environments and a high-contrast palette. Doechii appears in a metallic two-piece, ornate headpiece and platform heels, with glittering skin that catches the light throughout the sequence.

Rather than relying on a conventional narrative, the visual places the rapper at its center through a series of striking performance shots. Wide frames establish the overgrown setting before shifting to close-ups, full-body choreography and poses against textured walls.

The release arrives with a more personal message about the artistic mission behind her next body of work. In a handwritten update, Doechii explained that she has spent the past several years studying hip-hop’s history, language and foundations, approaching the genre as a student before deciding how she wants to contribute to its evolution.

“Now, I feel inspired to contribute to evolve it,” she wrote, describing a desire to stretch hip-hop through different genres, sounds and parts of herself.

Doechii also outlined a broader cultural ambition, writing that she feels a responsibility to put Black womanhood at the center of both hip-hop and pop. She framed that goal through her own experience growing up and the representation she wanted to see as a child, expressing a desire to become the dark-skinned icon she wished had existed for her younger self.

“I fear my devotion now is to becoming the artist I wish existed when I was growing up,” she wrote. “I want art in every f*cking thing. I want everything. I am EVERYTHING.”

The new chapter follows a year of high-profile collaborations, including “Runway,” her track with Lady Gaga released on April 6 in connection with The Devil Wears Prada 2. During an April 14 red carpet interview at the Los Angeles Fashion Awards, Doechii also teased more music with Gaga, telling fans that additional material was on the way.

You can win every day, and achieve extraordinary success. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.” As we get ourselves prepared in these days before the Rapture, you’re not only going to be triumphant in your city but everywhere you go.
