21 Savage’s new album What Happened to the Streets? arrives with powerful emotional weight in its final track, “I Wish.” The 33-year-old rapper closes the project by paying tribute to more than a dozen artists whose lives were cut short, using the song as both a memorial and a reminder of the losses that continue to shape hip-hop.

On “I Wish,” Savage reflects on the deaths of Young Dolph, Nipsey Hussle, Takeoff, XXXTentacion, Pop Smoke, PnB Rock, Juice WRLD, King Von, Trouble, Lil Keed, Rich Homie Quan, and more. Each line reads like a personal plea, with Savage imagining the small twists of fate that might have saved them.

Here are the lyrics:

“I wish Dolph would’ve Uber eats them cookies instead”

“I wish Nipsey stayed at home with Lauren chilled in the bed”

“I wish Takeoff got sick and had to stay in Atlanta”

“I wish X never even went to that store”

“Still rocking my Dior long live Pop Smoke”

“PnB we love you wish you got that chicken to go”

“Can’t believe I see Rich Homie Quan on a shirt”

“I wish Juice WRLD never even took that perc”

“Long live Scooter”

“Free Durk”

“I wish Von never even went to the club”

The tribute arrives as 21 Savage closes out 2025 with his comeback album What Happened to the Streets?. Released on December 12, the LP marks his fourth studio album and follows the success of american dream, which topped the Billboard 200 in 2024. The rollout began earlier in the week when Savage posted a stark teaser confirming the title, release date, and artwork. The album features 14 tracks, with a star-studded lineup of guest appearances including Drake, Lil Baby, Latto, GloRilla, G Herbo, Young Nudy, Metro Boomin, and Jawan Harris.
