21 Savage is closing out 2025 with a major surprise. The rapper has officially announced a new album, What Happened to the Streets?, set for release this Friday, December 12. The project arrives only days after he sparked speculation by posting a simple “Friday” on X, hinting that new music was imminent. Soon after, Savage shared a stark 30-second black-and-white teaser, offering fans the first visual cue of the album’s direction.
According to its Apple Music listing, What Happened to the Streets? features 15 tracks, each marked explicit. While the tracklist remains hidden, the album is already generating momentum.
The new album arrives nearly two years after his last solo full-length, american dream. Released in January 2024, that project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured standout tracks including “redrum” and collaborations with Doja Cat, Travis Scott, and Burna Boy. It earned widespread acclaim for its tightly focused production and Savage’s sharpened delivery.
