Doechii and SZA have closed out the year with a final firework. The Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates released a brand-new collaboration titled “Girl, Get Up” without prior announcement, catching fans off guard and instantly igniting conversation across social media. The single is now available on all major streaming platforms via TDE and Capitol Records.
Built on a sharp, minimal beat, “Girl, Get Up” sees Doechii directly addressing online narratives and industry criticism. Her verse confronts allegations of being an “industry plant” with pointed clarity, rejecting the idea that her rise was manufactured rather than earned. She raps: “All that industry plant shit wack, I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats… You suck every rap n**** d*ck from the back, but what’s the agenda when the It Girl black? Y’all can’t fathom that I worked this hard, and y’all can’t fathom that I earned this chart.”
The release arrives at a high point for both artists. SZA dominated 2025 with sustained commercial and critical success. She co-headlined the record-breaking Grand National Tour alongside Kendrick Lamar, supporting his album GNX and her own SOS deluxe reissue, Lana. She also added a fifth Grammy to her résumé earlier this year, winning Best R&B Song for “Saturn.”
Doechii, meanwhile, continued her rapid ascent with a landmark run of achievements. Her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal earned her the Grammy for Best Rap Album, making her only the third woman ever to win in that category. She was named Billboard’s 2025 Woman of the Year and delivered standout performances at major festivals, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. Her single “Anxiety” became her first top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
