The long-running tension between 50 Cent and T.I. appears to have spilled back into music. On the newly released theme song for Power: Origins, 50 delivers a verse that listeners quickly interpreted as a pointed jab at the Atlanta rapper and his family.
The track, titled “No One Told Us What We’re Here For,” features singer Leon Thomas and serves as the official theme for the upcoming Starz series. While much of the song leans into reflective storytelling about ambition and survival, one bar in particular has ignited conversation online.
“I’m back on my dope boy grammar, your daddy made your mama eat every box in Atlanta,” 50 raps during his verse. The line has been widely read as a direct reference to T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris and who built his career representing Atlanta’s rap scene. The lyric also appears to reference T.I.’s wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, in what many listeners see as a crude personal attack.
The moment arrives during an already tense period between the two rappers. Over the past several weeks, their rivalry has played out publicly across social media, interviews and music releases. T.I. previously challenged 50 Cent to a Verzuz battle and accused him of avoiding the confrontation. The Queens rapper responded with a series of mocking posts online, some of which targeted Tiny directly.
The dispute soon expanded beyond the two artists themselves. King Harris, T.I.’s son, entered the feud on social media, exchanging insults with supporters of 50 Cent and escalating the online drama.
T.I. has also taken the conflict back to the studio. In recent weeks, he released multiple diss records aimed at his rival, including “What Bully” and “WAR.” The tracks reignited a feud that has lingered for years but had largely remained dormant musically.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent has signaled that his response may extend beyond music. The rapper and television producer recently hinted at a potential documentary project tentatively titled Surviving T.I. & Tiny. In a social media post shared earlier this week, he compared the concept to his recent docuseries The Reckoning, which explored allegations surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Despite the escalating rhetoric, T.I. has recently indicated he would prefer to lower the temperature. In a series of interviews, the Atlanta rapper said he was proud of his sons for defending their mother but acknowledged that the online exchanges had crossed a line.
