Jennie is already looking ahead to her next creative chapter. In a new interview with V Magazine, the BLACKPINK star confirmed that fresh solo music is in the works for 2026, signaling the start of another evolution in her already record-breaking individual career.
Speaking about where she is artistically, Jennie emphasized that the process is still unfolding. “I honestly have no clue what it’s gonna look like yet. I am a very open book right now,” she said. Rather than rushing into a defined sound, the K-Pop idol appears focused on exploration and growth. One clear priority, however, is her voice. Jennie revealed she wants to “get deeper” with her vocals.
Another key element shaping her upcoming music is language. Jennie explained that blending Korean and English has been part of her artistic “homework” from the very beginning. That duality has become a defining trait of her global appeal, allowing her to move fluidly between markets while maintaining a strong sense of identity. According to V Magazine, new solo music is expected to arrive in 2026, aligning with what is shaping up to be a major year for both Jennie and BLACKPINK.
The announcement follows a landmark 2025 that firmly established Jennie as one of the most powerful solo forces in K-pop. Her debut studio album Ruby, released in March, debuted inside the top 10 in 19 countries and sold over one million copies worldwide in its first week. In the UK, the album opened at No. 3, making Jennie the highest-charting female K-pop soloist in the country’s chart history.
Singles from the project delivered equally historic results. “Like Jennie” topped South Korea’s Circle Digital Chart and became a global streaming success, while both “Mantra” and “Like Jennie” earned RIAA gold certifications. With three RIAA certifications to her name, Jennie became the first K-pop solo artist to reach that milestone.
Her year closed with another defining moment at the 2025 Melon Music Awards, where she won Record of the Year, Millions Top 10, and Top 10 Artist. The Record of the Year win marked the first time a soloist claimed the honor in the show’s history.
