BTS have unveiled the official music video for “Hooligan,” extending the visual narrative of their ARIRANG era with a sleek, performance-driven clip. Released Tuesday (April 7), the video pairs sharp choreography with a striking closing image centered on RM.
Dressed in coordinated black outfits, the group leans into the track’s smooth, dynamic energy, delivering tightly synchronized formations across minimalist industrial sets. Direction remains focused on movement and presence, echoing the performance-first approach that has defined several visuals from this era. In the final sequence, RM stands with a microphone as white ropes spill from his hands and spread across the concrete floor like roots, closing the video on one of the group’s most symbolic images to date.
“Hooligan” has quickly emerged as a fan favorite from ARIRANG. The track has already surpassed 80 million streams on Spotify, ranking as the album’s third most-streamed song behind “Swim” (194 million) and “Body to Body” (100 million).
The video arrives amid a historic commercial run. Lead single “Swim” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in late March, securing BTS their seventh chart-topper. ARIRANG opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 641,000 album-equivalent units and held the top spot for a second consecutive week, becoming the first K-pop album to achieve that milestone.
Streaming performance has matched its chart impact. Released on March 20, ARIRANG surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams in just 16 days, setting a new record for the fastest album by a group and the fastest by any Asian act in the platform’s history. The project launched with 110,005,265 first-day streams, marking the biggest debut ever for a K-pop album and the largest single-day total of 2026.
“Hooligan” follows closely behind the cinematic “2.0” video, which drew inspiration from Oldboy and introduced a darker, neo-noir aesthetic to the era.
With the ARIRANG Tour set to launch and a scheduled appearance on Hot Ones later this week, BTS continue to scale their global rollout with precision.
