Jungkook’s Golden has reached another commercial peak, officially surpassing 7 billion streams on Spotify and extending its status as one of the defining global pop albums of the streaming era. With the milestone, the BTS star becomes the first and only Asian soloist in Spotify history to cross that threshold with a single album.

Released on November 3, 2023, Golden was already positioned as a landmark project, but its longevity has now pushed it into an even rarer category. The album also continues to widen its lead as the most-streamed album by any K-pop act on Spotify, now sitting far ahead of BTS’ Be, which stands at 4.5 billion streams.

This latest benchmark builds on a streak of historic firsts. By summer 2025, Golden became the first album by a K-pop soloist to house three songs with over 1 billion Spotify streams each: “Seven” featuring Latto, “Standing Next to You,” and “3D” with Jack Harlow.

Commercially, Golden arrived with immediate force. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with more than 210,000 album-equivalent units in its opening week, one of the strongest first-week performances ever for a Korean soloist.

Part of that staying power lies in how deliberately Golden was constructed. Built as an all-English pop album with collaborators including Latto, Jack Harlow, Major Lazer, and DJ Snake, the project positioned Jungkook less as a regional superstar crossing over and more as a fully integrated global pop force. Songs like “Seven” and “Standing Next to You” continue to be a staple in fans’ playlists over two years later.
